Mesa Restaurant in Tomas Morato, QC. 8/2/11
Ate lunch here yesterday with my two sisters and their kids. I finally got to appreciate the resto’s architecture yesterday because there weren’t alot of people so I was free to roam around and check the whole place out. Personally, I LOVED the private function area they have. The windows have the “solihiya” patterns and the ceiling had this bamboo light fixture that looked stunning.
Honestly, I only started appreciating the “solihiya” pattern when I saw this on a bag that Zara was selling. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to buy that really cute satchel at the time because the bag had scratches and it wasn’t worth its price.
Anyway, in this panoramic picture, at the very right, you can see Senator Kiko Pangilinan leaning on his right hand - talking to Kris Aquino, perhaps (she was there too - when we were eating). Apparently, the Senator is a part owner of this lovely resto. Kudos to them for having good food (the shrimp with garlic lemon sauce and the tilapia meal with four sauces is a must try) and an awesome interior design.
This was taken during the Beda Animo Run. 7/10/11
It was a 3k, 5k and 10k marathon event that San Beda holds, I guess annually. We didn’t get to run though. The rain was so strong and le boyfriend didn’t want to get sick so we just went home right after his registration. But I saw my gradeschool bestfriend and some other people haha so it was good. (:
This was shot during our family outing on 5.15.11. That was supposed to be my last day in Manila but I decided to extend because I found out that I could rebook my ticket for free! Which was absolutely freaking awesome so I took advantage of the opportunity. (: I stayed for another 4 weeks. Which sadly just flew by. :(
These are my high school girlfriends :D We’ve known each other for God knows how long and I’m just ever so thankful that we’re still friends up til now. I can’t actually believe we went to Boracay together and hopefully, our target outing next year will be Cebu… or better, a different country! :)
This was taken right before our lovely massage by the beach.
May 3 - These photos were taken on our last day. I got up especially early - or actually didn’t sleep anymore (because of Epic the night before) just so I could catch the sunrise. Which unfortunately didn’t show itself because I realized that I was situated on the western side of the island. *sob* So I just took some photos of the grotto, then some photos taken from the grotto area and also somewhere soaked in water. (:
April 30 and May 1. Boraaacaaay!! I actually have five pictures. I couldn’t decide which to post so I’ll upload them all.
I miss this place, having uploaded this photo a month after that trip, all I ever want to do now is just go back.
The first shot was taken on our first day, sunset, then the second one, on our second day, lunch time. :P
April 30 (Morning - waiting to check in)
Boracay, the teaser. Goodness, the lines are so long, I broke my wayfarers, and I’m too crabby for words on that day because after our Girls Night Out from Antipolo, I didn’t sleep and my friends fetched me from my house.
But the wait, oh the bittersweet wait was worth it. (:
April 29 (afternoon)
Went to Yellow Cab with my sisters after Celebrity Club. YC definitely deserves a spot in my blog because they’re my favorite pizza people ever since high school. (Hah, first date venue e.)
As you can see, they’re inspired by NYC’s Yellow Cab - hence the restaurant name and also their interiors show pictures and places around NYC.

Here’s another shot of Binondo - this one shows the gateway entering Binondo. Though there’s a lot of elements in the picture, I think it pretty much describes crazy Manila traffic.
Second shot shows Eng Bee Tin - one of the most popular Chinese Hopia manufacturers here in China town. People from abroad - especially Balikbayans like me, really buy their stuff, though personally, I still prefer the ones that my mom buys from Quiapo… which reminds me. I still need to go there and take pictures!

Went to Binondo with one of my closest friends from highschool. :) Next to Divisoria, I think Binondo’s the place to go for yummy food, awesome sights and crazy crazy Manila traffic. Haha :))
Will be posting 4 panoramic shots because I honestly think 2 isn’t enough. This post shows the Binondo Church, inside and out.
